It can be easy to overlook pretty little "Erko", as it's affectionately known, what with big-'n-brash Newtown and the increasingly bustling Alexandria as neighbours. But you do so at your own peril: Erskineville is home to a few legendary pubs (the Imperial, the Rose of Australia, the Erko), some fantastic and cosy caf?s and restaurants, and the verdant Erskineville Oval, which is a great place to stretch out and relax in the shade.
