Melbourne Our Top 5 Good Beer Week Events
With hundreds of events during Good Beer Week, it can be hard to know where to start. That's why we picked our Top 5 options.
1. British Cult Breweries, Dr Morse, Thursday 16th May, Cost: Free
Meet the brewers of some of UK's most iconic independent breweries such as Pressure Drop Buxton Brewery and Northern Monk Brewing Co. Dr Morse always put on a good show with a spit roast, Dj and competitions throughout the day.
2. Pint of Origin, Miss Moses, All Week, Cost: Free
There are lots of Pint of Origins going on around town (where taps are taken over by a country or region) but we think the ACT & NT tap takeover at Miss Moses will be the most exciting. Benstpoke Brewing is winning awards all over the world, and the NT brews which rarely make it down to Melbourne, will be interesting to try.
3. Bridge Road to Mumbai, Horn Please, 15th May, Cost: $85
Horn Please, our favourite Indian restaurant in town pairing beers with one of our favourite Victorian breweries in Beechworth's Bridge Road, is something special. We know, because we attended this last year and certainly got our money's worth.
4. All You Can Eat, Riverland Bar, Sat 11th & Sun 12th, Cost:$35
$35 for an all-you-can-eat fancy bbq is crazy value. Beers from respected Victorian brewers will be available too. Great option for those in the CBD or those who like a view by the river. Good going Riverland Bar!
5. GABS, Exhibition Building, Sunday 19th May, Cost: $43
We picked the Sunday Session because it's more relaxed, has less lines, and as that closing time draws closer, bar staff might want to fill that glass a little higher to empty the kegs (but don't quote us)! Discounts apply if your wear a funny hat. The biggest party of them all!
